🇪🇬 My Experience in Egypt

A journey shaped by night skies, shifting regions, and the hum of jet engines

My arrival into Cairo wasn’t a single moment—it was a layered journey across the Middle East, stitched together by two very different flights.

The first leg brought me from Beirut to Cairo aboard Middle East Airlines (ME304). A short morning hop, but one that felt symbolic—crossing from the Levant into North Africa in under an hour. As the Mediterranean faded beneath the wing, the landscape shifted subtly, and Cairo emerged not as a postcard image, but as a vast, living organism of concrete, dust, and history.

A few days later, I departed Cairo on EgyptAir flight MS739 toward Amman—a late-night departure that lifted off just after midnight. There’s something unforgettable about leaving Cairo in the dark: the city glows endlessly, a sea of lights stretching far beyond what you expect. It’s a reminder that Cairo isn’t just ancient—it’s immense, chaotic, and very much alive.

These flights framed my experience of Egypt not as an isolated destination, but as part of a wider regional journey. Cairo became a crossroads rather than an endpoint—a place where Africa and the Middle East blur, and where every arrival or departure feels like stepping between worlds.
