flag of Antigua and Barbuda

The flag of Antigua and Barbuda features a horizontal, inverted V-shaped (or chevron) design in black, red, blue, and white, with a rising sun at the center.

The top of the flag showcases a black triangular field with a golden sun rising from the center. Below the black field, there is a blue horizontal band representing the Caribbean Sea, followed by a white band symbolizing the country’s sandy beaches. The large red triangles on either side of the flag represent the dynamism and energy of the people. The black symbolizes the African ancestry of the people of Antigua and Barbuda, while the sun represents a new era, hope, and the dawning of a bright future.

This flag, adopted in 1967 when the country gained self-governance, reflects the unique geographic and cultural heritage of Antigua and Barbuda.
