Flag of Bangladesh

The flag of Bangladesh is a simple yet meaningful design. It features a deep green field with a red circle slightly offset towards the hoist (left) side. The green represents the lushness of the land and the vitality of its people, while the red circle symbolizes the rising sun and the blood of those who sacrificed their lives for Bangladesh’s independence.

The flag was officially adopted on January 17, 1972, shortly after Bangladesh gained independence from Pakistan in 1971. The design reflects both the natural beauty of Bangladesh and the spirit of freedom and resilience that defines the nation’s identity.
