Arabic (العربية, al-ʿArabiyyah) is a Semitic language spoken by more than 400 million people across the Middle East and North Africa. It is one of the world’s most widely spoken languages and serves as the official or co-official language in over 20 countries.

Some dialects can differ so much that speakers from distant regions may have difficulty understanding each other.


The Arabic Alphabet

Arabic uses a distinctive script written from right to left.
