The country’s capital, Beirut, is the political, cultural, and economic heart of Lebanon. To the east, the Bekaa Valley is known for its vineyards, agriculture, and ancient ruins, while the governorate of Baalbek-Hermel is home to the spectacular Roman temples of Baalbek.

From the coastal cities of the Mediterranean to the peaks of the Mount Lebanon range, Lebanon packs an extraordinary variety of landscapes and cultures into a relatively small territory.

Lebanon has become one of my favourite countries to explore. So far, I have visited 7 of its 9 governorates, from the mountains of Mount Lebanon to the Roman ruins of Baalbek and the Mediterranean coast. With only Akkar and Nabatieh left to visit, I am close to completing the entire country—one more chapter in my journey to better understand the Middle East beyond the headlines. 🇱🇧✨
